Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The deputy FDP parliamentary group leader Stefan Müller is resigning from his mandate as a member of the Hessian state parliament at the end of this year. "For me, the opportunity for a career change has arisen, which appeals to me very much," said the FDP interior expert on Wednesday in Wiesbaden. "I would like to seize this opportunity, which is why it is with a heavy heart that I will give up my mandate." He did not give any further details.

The lawyer will have been a member of Parliament for a total of around nine and a half years after leaving. Thomas Schäfer from Maintal (Main-Kinzig-Kreis) will move up to the Hessian state parliament for Müller.
