Hesse: New presidents planned at various police headquarters

Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - There should be changes in the top positions of several Hessian police headquarters in the coming weeks. According to the plans of Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU), the President of the West Hesse Police Headquarters in Wiesbaden, Stefan Müller, is to become the new President in Frankfurt. He is to succeed Gerhard Bereswill, who retired in April.

Among other things, Müller was in charge of the restructuring of the Frankfurt Special Operations Command (SEK) after it was dissolved and reorganized due to right-wing extremist events. A spokesman for the Interior Ministry confirmed Beuth's plans on Wednesday. The media had previously reported on the personnel realignment of the police force.

The Vice President of the State Criminal Police Office, Felix Paschek, is said to be Müller's successor in Wiesbaden. After the retirement of the president of the police headquarters in southern Hesse, Bernhard Lammel, the vice president of the police headquarters in Frankfurt, Björn Gutzeit, is to take over the management position there. According to the spokesman, the cabinet still has to approve Beuth's plans.
