Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - In Hesse, less than three percent of all employees work in the cultural sector. As can be seen from the list "Cultural indicators at a glance" from the Federal Statistical Office, in 2021 in Berlin 8.2 percent of all employees worked in a cultural profession, in Hamburg it was 6.6 percent and in Bremen 4.4 percent.

Since there are more cultural offerings in big cities, the proportion in city states is naturally higher. If you only compare the non-city states, Hessen is at the top with 2.9 percent - together with Bavaria. In 2021, there were the fewest people in cultural professions in Saxony-Anhalt (1.7 percent).
