Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - People with foreign roots also suffered above average from the consequences of the pandemic in the second year of Corona. The Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs in Wiesbaden announced on Wednesday on the results of a representative survey on the social effects of the pandemic that they felt stressed, depressed or lonely much more often than people without a migration background. The reason for this is their poorer socio-economic situation on average. In the first survey a year earlier, people with a migration background had shown themselves to be significantly more stressed.
According to the current survey, people from both population groups are particularly concerned about the health of their families, the school development of their children and the German economy. Compared to the first survey, satisfaction increased slightly and skepticism about vaccination decreased significantly.
84 percent of migrant people were vaccinated, compared to 92 percent of others. More than 1,000 people were interviewed for the study earlier this year.
