The 24-year-old was not yet able to be questioned, the police said on Tuesday. The man was hit by a truck between Herborn and Ehringshausen (Lahn-Dill district) early Monday morning. He suffered serious head injuries.
According to the police, witnesses saw the 24-year-old injured in the direction of Dortmund leaning against the guardrail in the area of a construction site, and informed the police. It is still unclear why the man ran onto the freeway at all.
The 40-year-old truck driver was already questioned at the scene of the accident. In addition, the public prosecutor's office commissioned an expert to determine the course of the accident.
