Hesse: Police secure thousands of ecstasy tablets

Viernheim / Lampertheim (dpa / lhe) - During a check in the Bergstrasse district, police officers confiscated around 6,000 ecstasy tablets. On New Year's Eve, a 41-year-old man was searched on the sidelines of an event in the forest area between Lamperteim and Viernheim, the police said on Monday. He had 300 ecstasy pills with him. In the man's apartment, officials discovered another 5,700 pills. The emergency services also secured two kilograms of marijuana and a few grams of amphetamine. The man was temporarily arrested. The 41-year-old is now facing criminal proceedings.
