Hesse: Poseck: Most of the new jobs will be created in 2023

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Hesse's Justice Minister Roman Poseck (CDU) has announced that most of the promised new jobs in the judiciary will be created in the state as early as next year. "If the Hessian state parliament approves the 2023/2024 budget draft, 387 of the 477 jobs will be created in the coming year," said the Minister of the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden. "Due to the enormous increase in personnel, the high burden on the employees in the Hessian judiciary will decrease significantly." At the beginning of 2023, Parliament wants to finally vote on the financial planning for the next two years.

The Minister of Justice emphasized the importance of the Juvenile Justice Houses in the fight against crime in Hesse. "It is very gratifying that the committed and networked work in the youth justice centers obviously leads to a lower rate of recidivism among young offenders, as a scientific study presented this year for Frankfurt-Höchst has shown." Therefore there will be further initiatives.

The expansion of the area for the House of Youth Rights Frankfurt-Höchst is to be completed in spring 2023. The opening of a youth rights center in Hanau is also planned for spring next year, Poseck announced. In addition to the prevention of juvenile delinquency, a special focus in Hanau should be on the prevention of right-wing extremism. The aim is to educate young people and to recognize extreme tendencies at an early stage in order to prevent radicalization.

Representatives from the police, public prosecutor's office and juvenile court support work together under one roof in the juvenile justice centres. There are a total of six Houses of Juvenile Justice in the country.
