Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The windows of the Hessian prisons are protected against illegal drones with additional bars. This fine grating, which is attached to the normal grating, is intended to prevent objects being handed over to prisoners without permission by a drone steered to the cell window, the Ministry of Justice said at the request of the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden.
Illegal flights over the Hessian correctional facilities have not been registered in recent years. According to the Ministry of Justice, the last case to date occurred in 2018. During the nightly inspection of the yard in the work area of a prison, a drone lying on the ground with three mini mobile phones along with SIM cards, a charging cable and a USB stick was secured.
