Offenbach (dpa/lhe) - Heavy showers and local thunderstorms are to be expected in Hesse on the Pentecost weekend. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there should still be no precipitation on Thursday and it should be sunny in the south. The temperatures rise up to 24 degrees. It will also remain dry on Friday night.
From Friday afternoon, however, heavy showers and thunderstorms with sometimes stormy gusts are expected. The maximum temperatures vary between 22 and 27 degrees. On the mountains, the values are around 19 degrees.
This trend continues on Saturday and Pentecost Sunday. Temperatures rise up to 28 degrees in the lowlands and up to 20 degrees in the highlands. It is likely to remain rainy on Monday, even if the amount of precipitation is expected to decrease somewhat. It could also get a bit cooler with maximum values of up to 23 degrees.
