The driver of the truck got away with the shock, said the police in Fulda. His vehicle caught fire in the morning due to a technical defect, and the 46-year-old was able to get to safety unharmed. According to police estimates, the truck and the road suffered damage totaling 150,000 to 200,000 euros. All eastbound lanes were closed through the afternoon.
