Hesse: stabbings in asylum accommodation: investigations into murder

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - After the fatal knife attack in an asylum accommodation in the Mainz-Kastel district of Wiesbaden, the public prosecutor's office is investigating murder. The investigators assume that the alleged perpetrator first surprised the 35-year-old victim and then killed him with a knife, as a spokesman for the Wiesbaden public prosecutor said on Thursday.

The 40-year-old alleged perpetrator not only killed the 35-year-old, but also seriously injured his partner, the victim's wife and himself with a knife. Since the victim's wife was six months pregnant at the time of the attack, the unborn child also died. According to prosecutors, the injured are now out of danger.

So far it is still unclear why the alleged perpetrator carried out the knife attack. According to the public prosecutor's office, a dispute between the parties involved cannot necessarily be assumed at the moment. It will be determined in all directions.
