Hesse: stabbings in the drug environment: beginning of the process with a confession

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - The trial of a life-threatening knife attack in the drug environment began on Tuesday in Frankfurt with an extensive confession by the accused. The 32-year-old defendant admitted seven stab wounds in different parts of his opponent's body. But the 38-year-old set the starting point when he had just attacked him with a construction site sign, the accused said.

The act happened in May last year in the station district in front of an arcade. The seriously injured had to be operated on in the hospital. As a result of the many stitches, the public prosecutor's office assumes a conditional intent to kill. (AZ 3590 Js 221949/21)

The two men did not know each other before and apparently met by chance on the day of the crime. The defendant said the subsequent victim tried to force a prostitute on him, while the victim said on the witness stand that the 32-year-old had asked him about a woman. For their love services, however, he only wanted to spend five euros. The argument eventually escalated.

Both men were under the influence of alcohol and drugs. A psychiatric expert is therefore also consulted on the question of a possibly limited criminal responsibility. The jury has initially scheduled five more days of trial until mid-June.
