Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Freely accessible sports parks and exercise courses can also benefit from the sports promotion of the state of Hesse. The Ministry of Sport in Wiesbaden pointed this out in an answer to a parliamentary question from the FDP parliamentary group. The state government welcomes all sports facilities that encourage active exercise and recreation, the ministry said. Public sports facilities such as calisthenics facilities could play an important role in this.

These facilities usually have bars of various heights and positions. Bodyweight exercises include push-ups, pull-ups, and squats. The funding programs are not limited to "standard" sports facilities, the ministry explained. Public sports facilities are eligible and have already been supported in individual cases.
