The crime happened on Monday evening in the Praunheim district of Frankfurt. The 38-year-old victim was fatally injured by several shots on the street, according to the police's previous findings. Attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful, officials said. The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The 40-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene. A murder commission is investigating the background to the crime. It was initially unclear whether the perpetrator and the victim knew each other, the police reported on Wednesday.
