Hesse: the Lübcke Committee questioned the former head of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Eisvogel

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - In the investigative committee of the Hessian state parliament on the murder of Walter Lübcke, the former President of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Alexander Eisvogel, is to be questioned on Wednesday (9.30 a.m.) as a witness. In addition, two employees of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution are invited.

The deputies are concerned with the "assessment of the particular danger" of Stephan Ernst, who was convicted of murdering the Kassel district president, and Markus H., who was also accused in the proceedings.

Committee chairman Christian Heinz (CDU) said he hoped the meeting would provide background information "why Dr. Eisvogel came to the conclusion in 2009 that Stephan Ernst was "extremely dangerous" and wrote this down by hand on a note."
