Hesse: Too noisy through the residential area on a holiday: you have to pay

Frankfurt (dpa/lhe) - Because he drove too loudly through downtown Frankfurt for no reason, a motorcyclist has to pay a fine. The fact that the exhaust system of his Harley Davidson was technically flawless and approved does not change that, according to a statement by the Frankfurt District Court on Wednesday. Accordingly, the excessive noise was an administrative offense and the 32-year-old had to pay a fine of 100 euros. The man had legally defended himself against the decision. The verdict is not yet legally binding.

When driving through a residential area in the evening hours of Good Friday this year, the 32-year-old opened the exhaust flaps several times - and thereby caused unnecessarily loud exhaust noises lasting about ten seconds, the judge explained in the verdict. The man was then stopped by the special police unit KART (Autoposer, Raser and Tuner Control Unit).
