Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - A suspected member of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) must answer before the Higher Regional Court (OLG) in Frankfurt from April 24. The Frankfurt Public Prosecutor's Office accuses the 55-year-old man of membership in a foreign terrorist organization. A court spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

The accused is said to have worked as a full-time member of the PKK since July 2019. In this function he is said to have performed management tasks and initially looked after the Gießen region and later the Kassel and Erfurt areas. He is also said to have organized propaganda events and meetings. The 55-year-old is also said to have been involved in recruiting junior members and overseeing the collection of donations.

According to the court, the man was arrested last May and has been in custody since then. According to current planning, the main hearing before the State Security Senate will last at least until August.
