Hesse: Two seriously injured after a serious accident on the A7

Fulda (dpa/lhe) - A 34-year-old man and a two-year-old child were seriously injured in a serious traffic accident on the A7 between the Niederaula and Hünfeld/Schlitz junctions on Thursday. Four other people suffered minor injuries.

As the police announced in the evening, the accident was caused by the collision of two other cars. Accordingly, a 72-year-old driver suddenly swerved from the middle to the left lane. A 38-year-old driver, who was driving in the left lane, drove into the vehicle of the alleged cause of the accident, which was occupied by three people. Both cars only came to a stop behind the crash barrier.

The following 34-year-old probably wanted to dodge, lost control of his vehicle and was thrown over the guardrail. He was trapped in the vehicle and had to be rescued from the vehicle by the fire department. Like the toddler in the car, he was seriously injured. The other people involved in the crash were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Fire brigade, rescue service and police as well as a rescue helicopter were on site for the rescue and recovery work. According to initial estimates, property damage was in the mid five-digit range.

The motorway had to be closed for about two hours for the period of the accident recording and the subsequent recovery.
