Hesse: Unknown people blow up the ticket machine: 30,000 euros in damage

Hanau (dpa/lhe) - On Monday night, unknown persons tried to blow up a ticket machine at the train station in the Klein-Auheim district of Hanau. There had been a loud bang and witnesses observed three people fleeing across the track bed towards the industrial area, the police said on Monday morning. So far, the officers have been looking for the perpetrators without success. According to initial police estimates, the destroyed machine caused damage of around 30,000 euros. Due to the strength of the explosion, the officials assume that the perpetrators cannot have used commercially available fireworks.
