Hesse: Von der Au is the new head of the police headquarters for technology

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The Hessian police headquarters for technology has a new president: Interior Minister Peter Beuth (CDU) appointed the 58-year-old Frank von der Au in Wiesbaden on Thursday. He succeeds Karl-Heinz Reinstädt, who retired last year. The technical presidium takes care of the IT, vehicles, properties, uniforms, weapons and digital radio of the Hessian police.

With Frank von der Au, "a clever thinker and prudent doer" will head the Presidium, explained Beuth. In the course of his career, the 58-year-old has proven that he can implement large-scale projects in a very goal-oriented manner.

Von der Au began his police career in 1986 with the Hessian riot police. After positions in the Frankfurt and Wiesbaden police headquarters, he has worked in the state police headquarters since 2001. There he took over the management of the technology department in 2018, as announced by the Ministry of the Interior.
