The festival opened on Thursday evening at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. According to the organizers, 17 international, transdisciplinary productions will be presented.

The new curator Kilian Engels had announced that the Wiesbaden Biennale would be more diverse, more diverse, more socio-political and free from classic formats. "We don't show any plays, there are no literary sources, we no longer have a classical theater," he said in an interview with the dpa. Instead, there will be visual arts, dance and film productions; partly also to participate.
