Hesse: With the four-legged friends in the outdoor pool: dog swimming in Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - At the end of the outdoor pool season, four-legged friends splashed around in the Kallebad at the weekend in Wiesbaden. "The water is currently still in the basin and we want to offer an additional offer at the end of the season," explained the deputy manager of operator Mattiaqua, Eric Alberti.

In the first hour after opening, around 60 dogs with masters and mistresses took advantage of the offer. Overall, he expects about 250 dogs, said operations manager Thomas Baum on Sunday. The entrance fees of one euro per person and two euros per dog are to be donated in full to the animal shelter in Wiesbaden.

The dog swimming took place in Wiesbaden for the fourth time this year, but for the first time in the Kallebad. The demand is great: "So far it has always been a success and we have had a nice response," explained Alberti. On Sunday, the dogs were allowed to dive into the non-swimmer pool and let off steam on the lawn. In order not to endanger the health of the animals, the water was no longer chlorinated.
