Hesse: World War II bomb in Hanau must be blown up in a controlled manner

Hanau (dpa / lhe) - Another bomb from the Second World War has been found on the site of a former barracks in Hanau. After an investigation, specialists from the explosive ordnance clearance service decided to blow up the approximately 50-kilogram aircraft bomb on Friday evening, as the city announced. At a distance of 300 meters from the site in Pioneer Park, roads were closed and about 60 residents had to evacuate their homes.
