Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - In central Hessian Limburg, the ozone value rose above the information threshold on Thursday. As reported by the Hessian State Agency for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology in Wiesbaden, the one-hour average at 6 p.m. was 190 micrograms per cubic meter of air. The limit of the information threshold is 180 micrograms of ozone.
The agency recommended that sensitive people avoid strenuous physical activity outdoors. In the evening hours, a drop in the ozone concentration is to be expected, it said. The gas irritates the mucous membranes and attacks the respiratory tract, eyes and lung tissue.
