Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - SV Wehen Wiesbaden has extended its successful streak in the 3rd football league to six games without defeat. The Hessians won 3-1 (1-1) against SC Freiburg II on Saturday. After Lars Kehl put the visitors ahead in the 7th minute, Benedict Hollerbach (31st penalty kick), Kianz Froese (82nd) and Ivan Prtajin (85th) turned the game around in favor of the home side. Due to the success, the SVWW temporarily moved to fifth place in the table with 15 points.
Wehen slept through the first 20 minutes, the guests seemed much more alert and managed to take the deserved lead with a free kick converted directly by Kehl. After that, the Hessians caught themselves and had their first chances. After a foul on Prtajin, Hollerbach deservedly equalized with a penalty.
As a result, Wehen Wiesbaden missed it despite good opportunities to take the lead. Only after a yellow-red card for Julian Stark (60th) did the Hessians manage to win the deserved victory against decimated guests thanks to two late goals.
