High mountains. Gap electric scooters: increasing safety awareness

Gap has had 130 electric scooters available for self-service since May 5. This soft mode of transport is desired by the municipality. However, it can cause incivility in the case of misuse. The City of Gap has launched an awareness-raising campaign in conjunction with Road Prevention, the safety centre of the Hautes-Alpes Prefecture, and Bird to address the dangers posed by electric scooter misuse," stated the town hall in a statement.

The town hall states that minors older than 12 years old, to whom Bird scooters are usually restricted, can use them "exceptionally" in order to inform them of the regulations. The devices are being deployed by Bird, as a reminder. One euro is required to unlock the scooter, and 25 cents per minute thereafter. To ride, you must be at least 18 years old.
