High mountains. Villar-Saint-Pancrace: the RD36 closed due to a risk of landslide

A landslide threatens the RD36 between Villard-Saint-Pancrace and Saint-Martin-de-Queyrieres. Traffic has been restricted to the tunnel at the "Spanish Road" since Tuesday night, June 14. A geologist will be on-site this Wednesday morning at the Hautes Alpes departmental council to assess the situation.

Marcel Cannat (Vice-President of the Department responsible for roads) warns that "it may be necessary to cleanse the cliff to prevent falling rocks." As a precaution, school carriers were notified and a diversion was put in place.
