María Gámez leaves the direction of the Civil Guard by surprise and at a very delicate moment for the Armed Institute, immersed in various scandals such as the Barracks case or the Mediator case. Gámez has been in office since 2020 and the announcement of her resignation has caused surprise within the Corps.
For the moment it is unknown if it was the Ministry of the Interior who removed her from the position or, on the contrary, it was she herself who made the decision to leave.
