According to the Paris prosecutor, the driver who was suspected of refusing to comply with a Paris check on Saturday and then running into police on Monday was temporarily placed in police custody for "attempted murder on a person in public authority".

According to the Paris prosecutor, the driver who was suspected of refusing to comply with a Paris check on Saturday and then running into police on Monday was temporarily placed in police custody for "attempted murder on a person in public authority".

The 38-year old man was taken into police custody at the hospital by the beginning of the afternoon. He was not in a condition to speak at this stage. He sustained serious gunshot wounds in the chest.

According to the prosecution, the custody of three officers from the General Inspectorate for the National Police (IGPN), which began on Sunday and was extended Monday. The police officers were two men, one woman, who allegedly shot at vehicle. The three officers are being questioned for "violence causing an ITT (total disruption of work) for more than 8 days using a weapon by a public authority" as well as "violence causing death by the person who holds it." The victim, a front passenger, was shot in the head and died on Sunday from her injuries. According to the prosecution, the police took the custody order "due to the seriousness and the potential consequences of the shootings" and to verify the weapons used by the individuals involved.
