The Civil Guard has confirmed that the human remains found in the registry of a farm in Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real) correspond to Juan Miguel Isla Fernández, 58 years old and who has disappeared since July 2022. In this investigation, two arrests have been made for his presumed relationship with this disappearance.

"As expected according to the hypotheses handled by the research team, it has been confirmed through biological analysis that the human remains found belong to Juan Miguel Isla Fernández," the Civil Guard said in a statement.

The investigation, carried out by agents of the Central Operating Unit (UCO) and the Ciudad Real Command, is directed by the Manzanares Investigating Court number 2.

Within the framework of this investigation, two arrests have been made, that of the owner of the farm, Antonio Caba., as the main suspect according to sources of the investigation, and that of G.R.E., 78 years old and for whom provisional detention was issued yesterday. and without bail.

Antonio Caba continued this Thursday in the custody of the Civil Guard, which continued to carry out searches. Investigation sources indicate that the latter is the owner of the Valdepeñas farm where the skeletal remains were found, which have now been confirmed to correspond to Juan Miguel Isla.

Juan Miguel Isla, 58, disappeared on July 22, 2022 after attending a business appointment with an intermediary from his town in which he was supposedly going to collect 50,000 euros for the sale of some land.

His car, a Renault Clio, was located on January 25, abandoned on the outskirts of the city of Albacete and investigators believe that it was a distraction maneuver by the detainees.

The Civil Guard is investigating the disappearance of another man in 2019, Jesús González, another businessman in the area, also in Manzanares, in case he was related to the same intermediary arrested after the discovery of the skeletal remains in a well on his property. In his case, he mediated the sale of some cars.
