It's Christmas in the charts: Sarah Connor storms to number 1

It's still a month until the arrival of the Christ child. But in the German charts, the festival of festivals is already casting its shadow. Sarah Connor isn't the only one taking first place with her album "Not So Silent Night".

Sarah Connor has done it again: The singer is at the top of the official German charts with one album, determined by GfK Entertainment. On "Not So Silent Night" the singer has collected self-written, English-language Christmas songs and refrained from cover versions. With the record, Connor is celebrating the fourth number one album in her career.

Twelve other Christmas-themed albums are also currently in the top 100, including "Christmas Party" by The Kelly Family (from 19th to 18th place), "Christmas" by Michael Bublé (from 56th to 26th place) and "Weihnachts-Memories " by DJ Ötzi (new at number 30).

Behind Sarah Connor's album was Queen's The Miracle, followed by Bruce Springsteen's "Only The Strong Survive", Taylor Swift's "Midnights" and Neil Young's "World Record".

In the single charts, "Zukunft Pink" by Peter Fox featuring Inéz is still on the throne. Similarly defending their place Sam Smith

Christmas is already having an impact on the single charts: the classics "All I Want For Christmas Is You" (Mariah Carey, 6th place) and "Last Christmas" (Wham!, 7th place) make it into the charts for the first time in November the top 10. The 20 other Christmas songs in the charts include "Merry Christmas Everyone" by Shakin' Stevens (17th place) and Chris Rea's "Driving Home For Christmas" (21st place).
