Italy's president dissolves parliament after Draghi's resignation

Draghi had announced his resignation in the morning in view of a deep crisis in the governing coalition. This step was triggered by the refusal of three coalition parties to take part in a vote of confidence. The 45-year-old neo-fascist Giorgia Meloni is considered a possible successor to Draghi at the head of the government.
