Tornado drinking, floating wire hearts and lots of quiz question marks: In the big "Jauch gegen 2022" guessing fun, everyone involved really gets down to it. In the end, one candidate has to struggle in particular.

Lights out, spot on! silence in the hall. Then Oliver Pocher's voice sounds: "Mr. Jauch, you're probably wondering who your current quiz opponent is, right?" The interviewee winks. "That would be helpful to know," replies Germany's rate show icon. Two breaths later, colleague Pocher lets the cat out of the bag. "It's the year 2022! And there was a lot going on there!" announces the entertainment expert from Hanover.

Representing the past year, eight illustrious celebrities act as quiz godparents. The rules of the game are known. Lots of questions are asked on a wide range of topics. Anyone who answers most of the questions correctly with the help of their general knowledge and possibly earned jokers earns a whopping 35,000 euros for their allocated guest block in the studio. "It was a year for the bin," Günther Jauch quickly sums up, before his quiz opponents gradually join in and set all available synapses between their ears to receive.

Also at the start are the Ehrlich Brothers, who, with their emo hairstyles and crisp leather jackets, look as if they have just come from a Tokio Hotel tribute band contest. Ballermann party producer Matthias Distel aka Ikke Hipgold and reality starlet Evelyn Burdecki are also there. "Explosiv" figurehead Frauke Ludowig and presenter Nina Moghaddam also diligently advise - a couple that particularly delights Oliver Pocher: "Oh, that's almost like GNTM. Heidi and her daughter..." chirps the otherwise cheeky one Moderator almost like a cicada ready to courtship.

Last but not least, Kunterbunt influencer Twenty4tim and "Youth Word of the Year" announcer Susanne Daubner join the group. The knowledge questions are as varied as the rate counter. Has Alexandra Popp ever had a mustache? Is there a South African domestic pig with painting talents? And what is a balaclava? While the studio audience, depending on the outcome of the quiz, puts their hands in front of their faces or jubilantly raises their arms in the air, Oliver Pocher diligently counts points. It goes back and forth. Sometimes Günther Jauch lights up a little lamp. Sometimes the celebrity group pulls a knowledge trump card out of their sleeves.

So that the big picture doesn't come across too doggedly, those present build small fun bridges in between. So the Ehrlich Brothers let a small heart made of garden fence wire float in the direction of the studio ceiling. "Layla" composer and party animal Ikke Hipgold also shines with extraordinary skills. The Limburger is the only one in the group who knows how to make a real clown when "tornado drinking" - including a drool-covered training jacket.

Shortly before the final gong the viewer learns that Karl Lagerfeld owned more than 600 MP3 players during his lifetime and that the city of Viersen has a huge "dog pee" problem. Can the format finale go one better? It can! "I would rather give birth to another child!" Nina Moghaddam sobbed during her private duel with Günther Jauch. But the suffering is worth it. Together with the other celebrities, Nina forces the supposedly overpowering Günther to his knees. The celebrity studio block rages like Hertha's east curve after a storm by "football god" Davie Selke. Prime time as it should be.
