Rice spent the last days praising Trey Lance and predicting big things from the 49ers' second year quarterback.

Rice said that Trey Lance is ready to go. Rice spoke via KSBW TV. His mobility, his strong arm and this guy are all reasons why he is ahead of his time.

The 49ers moved Lance up in the 2021 draft, making him the third overall pick. He was behind Garoppolo for much of the last season, but will be starting this season.

Rice said that Rice was running routes for Rice. Rice said that it didn't take him long to get on the same page. He has a rocket arm but also the mobility and vision to extend plays and throw downfield.

"I am certain, with repetitions on and the players just building around him that he will have a successful season this year,"

Lance played in two games during his rookie year and completed 41 out of 71 passes for 603 yards with five touchdowns, and two interceptions. In six games, he also had a running touchdown.
