After being shot at, the suspect was left stunned in Japan, where he was former Prime Minister Shinzo abe's victim. After the fact, the suspect confessed that he had a grudge against certain organizations and that he committed the crime because he believed former Prime Minster Abe was related to him. Jack Ruby killed Lee Harvey Oswald two days later, but he will not be convicted. A commission of inquiry may find him guilty. Another hypothesizes that there is a second shooter. This has fuelled conspiracy theories for years.

Two heads of state in France were also killed while exercising their duties. Sadi Carnot, the first, was President of the Republic from December 3, 1887 until he was assassinated by his fellow citizens on June 24, 1894. This occurred just a few months prior to the expiration of his term. When Sante Geronimo Caserio, an Italian anarchist, stabbed him while he was walking to the theater in Lyon, he was waving to his fellow citizens. He was severely wounded and died in hospital. Sante Geronimo Caserio received a sentence and was guillotined 13 days later.
Paul Doumer, the President of the Republic, was elected in 1931. He was then killed on May 6, 1932. He was attacked at the Salon of Veteran Writers of the First World War, Paris. A few hours later, he was shot and then died in hospital. "le Figaro” points out that the media and public authorities will feed the story to propagandize the event in the context of the global economic crisis and rising xenophobia.
Thomas Sankara was the former president of Burkina Faso. He was assassinated by his own armies during a coup. The anti-imperialist figure and hero of African youth, Thomas Sankara, was the leader of the former Upper Volta until October 15, 1987. Thomas Sankara, a member of the National Council of the Revolution, is shot to death by a military commando.
Blaise Compaore his brother-in-arms, who succeeded him as Burkina Faso's head, is believed to be the primary person responsible for his murder. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with the other sponsors and in his absence, for "attack on State Security" as well as "complicity and murder", after six months of a trial that began in October.
Rafic Hariri was the Prime Minister of Lebanon between 2000 and 2004, but he is no longer in office. On February 14, 2005, a suicide bomber detonated a van with explosives while his armored convoy was passing through the front. From Beirut, 226 people were injured.
This billionaire was a member of the anti-Syrian resistance in Lebanon and his death prompted the Cedar Revolution. It was a popular movement that notably led to the withdrawal of all Syrian troops in 2005. In August 2020, Salim Ayyash is found guilty by a special court. Hezbollah's alleged member.
Boris Nemtsov was an opponent to Vladimir Putin and was a former vice-president 1997-1998. He was shot in the back. After his appeal for support for Ukraine's "aggression", he was shot multiple times in the back on the Moscow street.
Five Chechens were sentenced to death for the murder of his father in 2017. There has never been any identification of a sponsor.

The world was shaken by the recent assassination Jovenel Moise (the president of Haiti), in 2016. He was elected in 2016 as the president of Haiti.
