"Just glad it's over": Nicole back on stage after cancer

Singer Nicole disappeared from the scene for about a year and a half. After her cancer, she is now back on stage. In the meantime, she's doing really well again, says the 57-year-old, visibly touched, on the Saturday evening show "The Big Hit Comeback".

With emotional words and tears in her eyes, ESC legend Nicole ("A little peace") presented herself live on stage again after her cancer. "I'm just glad it's over and I can really look forward again," emphasized the 57-year-old on the Saturday evening show "The Big Hit Comeback" in the first.

In the meantime she is doing really well again, the singer said after her performance to the moderator Florian Silbereisen in the glass hall of the Leipzig Exhibition Centre. There Nicole sang her new song "I'm back" and was visibly touched by the audience. Some fans also had tears in their eyes. The singer, whose real name is Nicole Seibert, made her breast cancer diagnosis public in April after being diagnosed in December 2020.

According to the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, the singer disappeared from the scene for around a year and a half. Exactly 40 years (1982) after her victory in the Eurovision Song Contest (then: Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson), Nicole also presented her hit "A little peace" live on stage. "Even today, four decades later, we all wish for a little peace," said Silbereisen.
