Justin Herbert: We need to keep Mike Williams!

While the Chargers' offseason was dominated by news from the defensive side of things, players who left other teams for Los Angeles were the big news. However, the offense wasn't affected.

Wide receiver Mike Williams played his entire career with the Chargers. The team decided to sign him again before the March start of free agency. It's not surprising that Justin Herbert, quarterback of the Chargers, called the move a major plus.

Herbert stated that Mike Williams was a huge influence on his career via Jeff Kerr from CBSSports.com. He's one those guys who will be willing to convert on third down if needed. He's a great teammate, and his athletic abilities are exceptional. Because he is such an integral part of our offense, it was important for us to keep him around. We wouldn't be the same team without him. It was great to have him around.

Last season, the Chargers offense was among the best in the league. Williams' signing is an attempt to keep the Chargers strong on the offensive side of the ball. The other moves are intended to give the team a defense capable of putting up some more leads this season.
