He became a legend with the electro-pop band Depeche Mode. They celebrated success together for more than four decades. Now the remaining band members are mourning Andy Flechter. The keyboard player was 60 years old.

Andy Fletchter, keyboardist and founding member of Depeche Mode, has died. The band announced this on social media. "We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness at the passing of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy "Fletch" Fletcher," the official Depeche Mode Twitter account said. Fletcher was 60 years old. In their statement, the band asks that the privacy of his family be respected.

Together with Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Vince Clarke, Flechter owned Depeche Mode in Basildon, England, in 1980. Clarke was temporarily replaced by Alan Wilder. Later, Depeche Mode consisted of only three members.
