Known from "Supernatural": Nicki Aycox dies at the age of 47

A year and a half ago, Nicki Aycox made it public that she had leukemia. Now the actress, known from series such as "Supernatural" or "The X Files", dies at the age of only 47. "Everyone who knew her loved her," says her sister-in-law with affectionate words.

Actress and musician Nicki Aycox is dead. She died on November 16, 2022 at the age of just 47. Her sister-in-law Susan Raab Ceklosky confirmed this on Facebook.

"My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented and loving sister-in-law Nicki Aycox Raab passed away yesterday at my brother Matt Raab's side," she wrote. "Nicki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California. She was a fighter and everyone who knew her loved her." She also shared pictures of Aycox and her husband.

The actress' sister-in-law did not name a cause of death. However, Aycox announced about a year and a half ago that she had leukemia. Before she received the diagnosis, she initially believed that she was suffering from Corona. "I'll come back better, stronger and smarter," she said optimistically while undergoing chemotherapy.

In March, Aycox posted a video on Instagram for the last time. In it, she tries to sing the song "Here I Go Again" by the group Whitesnake. In the attached comment, she explains self-deprecatingly: "Never try to sing 80s songs when you've just had a high dose of chemo. It causes memory loss."

Nicki Aycox started her acting career in 1996. She played episodic roles in various series, from "Ally McBeal" to "The X-Files". However, she had her most famous part in the series in "Supernatural". In seasons one and four, she faced the Winchester brothers as the demon Meg Masters.

In cinemas, Nicki Aycox has appeared in the horror sequel "Jeepers Creepers 2", in the second "The X-Files" film and in the thriller "The Girl On The Train". In 2014 she ended her acting career. A year later she released the EP "Red Velvet Room" with her own songs. She also made a name for herself with her vegan blog Cashews and Olives.
