League game: Zwickau's next defeat in the 3rd division: 0-1 against Duisburg

FSV Zwickau was not rewarded for its high effort in the 3rd league and conceded the next defeat. The Saxons lost 1-0 (0-1) against MSV Duisburg on Tuesday evening. In front of 5224 spectators, Chinedu Ekene (36th minute) scored the only goal of the game. After the 0:3 in Meppen at the weekend it was the second defeat in the third game for the Saxons under coach Joe Enochs. Zwickau had previously gone five games without defeat against MSV.

As in the first two league games against Halle and Meppen, the Saxons tried to build up pressure from the start. Coach Joe Enochs had wanted his team to do a lot of action in the penalty area. However, there weren't many chances in the first half.

The Duisburg team had their first really good conclusion from coach Torsten Ziegener, who led Zwickau to the 3rd division in 2016, but then left in a dispute in 2018. Ekene's shot (18') was blocked by Zwickau keeper Johannes Brinkies for a corner. On his next good opportunity, the 23-year-old then headed the ball in completely free-standing after a cross to take the lead.

After the break, Zwickau pressed again, but was often too imprecise in the end or the last pass. Johan Gomez missed the best chance to equalize in stoppage time.
