Legislative 2022. Drome: Salim Bouziane, the candidate for the presidential party LREM, was excluded

Candidate in Drome's second district (Portes-les-Valences, Montelimars, Pierrelatte), Salim Boziane and his deputy Helene Brard were exempted from La Republique en Marche's (LREM) movement.

Le Montilien, who had declared his candidacy in February, hoped to be nominated. Benoit Maclin was preferable to him, but he decided not to withdraw his candidacy.

"The executive office La Republique en Marche ruled on Monday, May 25 that the movement of declared candidates for the legislative elections against a candidate invested in Together!, the presidential majority, was not allowed to proceed. The second constituency of Drome was occupied by the examination of the cases of Salim Bouziane (dissident candidate) and Helene Brard (substitute) against the presidential candidate. These two candidates were excluded by the executive board. This decision was unanimously taken by all present and took effect immediately," announces Nicolas Michel, referent LREM Drome. He recalls the support of the party Benoit Maclin, "the sole candidate of Emmanuel Macron within this constituency".

Salim Bouziane made note of the decision, even though he was not informed.
