Legislative in Dordogne: Michele Roux is the candidate for a nearly united left in Bergeracois

The Insoumise Michele Roux is where the hopes of the (almost-) unites rest in the second constituency, the Dordogne of Bergeracois. To make it clear that Fabienne Lafont and Julie Tejerizo, the communist candidate, withdrew without hesitation from their candidacy following the signing of the New Popular Ecological and Social Union Nupes.

This union is fragile without socialists, and everyone for themselves can be persistent. Saturday, May 21 was the day of the inauguration at Place Doublet, Bergerac. This gave us the opportunity to review the troops and bring in around thirty more.

The communists missed the call if the ecologists representatives were present. It is nevertheless a significant force with a history in Bergerac that was able to mobilize for such an urgent deadline.

We are looking for militants as well as those from the PC and EELV. The Insoumis have to rely on their own abilities, whether it is towing at the markets, going door–to–door, or organizing public meetings for the villages.

Last but not least: Michele Roux finds herself with Christophe Cathus, a regional councilor.

Michele Roux, along with Bernard Stevan, rushes into the countryside to sweep the ground. The strategy is not about convincing new voters. It focuses first on remobilizing an existing electorate that had moved in large numbers in the first round.

Public meetings, festive days in towns and - most importantly - through the campaign are all part of it. In the most popular areas of Bergerac (Naillac, La Catte in the lead), Jean-Luc Melenchon scored high in April. The candidate leads the campaign with the words "When I am elected ..."."

Michele Roux, a former agriculturalist, advocates a "peasant farming system that preserves the common benefit", which is better managed and paid. She advocates for food sovereignty that is governed by quotas to "prevent flooding the market and causing price collapse".

Another important battle horse is the place of women. Particularly those in the "link trades", such as caregivers, home helpers, and so on. Poorly considered, low-paid, unpaid, and working irregular hours. She organised several screenings-debates around the film "Debout les Femmes", which Francois Ruffin, deputy journalist, had made.
