Matthew Stafford, Rams quarterback, didn't throw during the offseason program this year. He wanted to rest his right elbow so that he could focus on other things.
Stafford admitted that it is less fun to practice without throwing the ball. However, he learned there was "plenty to gain" despite the physical limitations. Stafford stated that he has made significant improvements in his knowledge of offense.
Stafford stated, via the team website, "At this stage in the year last year, I think back to myself what I knew regarding this team and that offense and it's just such a small amount in comparison to what is now." "So that gives us great comfort in knowing that we can do more than we did last season."
Although the Rams may not have all their offensive pieces from last season, they do have most of the key pieces. The new faces won't affect the Rams' ability to hit the right notes so long as Stafford's elbow isn't infected.
