Rostock (dpa/mv) - The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is celebrating 30 years of research in Rostock on Wednesday (3 p.m.). The company is currently represented by the institutes for large structures in production technology and for graphic data processing in the Hanseatic city. In addition, there is the branch of the Leipzig Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology and the Smart Ocean Technologies research group, which is part of the large-scale Rostock project Ocean Technology Campus (OTC). A total of around 300 people are employed at the Fraunhofer institutes in the Hanseatic city.
According to the information, Fraunhofer is the largest research organization for application-oriented research in Europe. The fields of research are based on people's needs: health, safety, communication, mobility, energy and the environment.
