Bernitt (dpa / mv) - The radio mast infrastructure company Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (FMI) has put the first cell phone mast commissioned by the state into operation in Bernitt (Rostock district). This is an important milestone on the way to nationwide mobile phone coverage in rural areas, said Digital Minister Christianpegel on Friday. He would have preferred this date earlier, but was satisfied with the twelve months between the planning application and commissioning.
With the help of society, the state government wants to plug the white spots in the mobile network. According to FMI, three more masts are planned. In addition, there are talks with the mobile operators about other locations.
