Schwerin/Bern (dpa/mv) - Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's Economics Minister Reinhard Meyer (SPD) has been in Switzerland looking for investors for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania since Thursday. At the start of his two-day trip, Meyer explained that the north-east has outstanding locational advantages that should be marketed more intensively. These included the location on the Baltic Sea and the proximity to Hamburg, Berlin, Stettin and Copenhagen. Developed commercial areas are available.

According to the minister, an economic meeting with potential Swiss investors is planned in Bern. Also on the agenda are company visits to Burgdorf, Gwatt (Thun) and Bülach at Ypsomed, Burger Technology and Biotronik for upcoming projects.

MV can already refer to a number of settlements from Switzerland, such as the Nestlé coffee capsule factory and the medical technology manufacturer Ypsomed in Schwerin. In Rostock, Cortronik GmbH is driving the development and production of stents in close cooperation with Biotronik.
