Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The Order of Merit of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania goes this year to the managing director of the refugee council MV, Ulrike Seemann-Katz, to the child protection association state head Angelika Stiemer and to the chairman of the Jewish community in the north-east, Valeriy Bunimov. The medals are to be presented at the annual reception by Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD), which will take place next Monday in Parchim, as the State Chancellery announced on Monday in Schwerin. Around 300 guests from politics and business, culture, volunteer work and sport are expected to attend the reception. The Mecklenburg-West Pomeranian Order of Merit was first awarded in 2002.
