Mecklenburg-West Pomerania: Schwerin volleyball players celebrate victory against Neuwied

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The volleyball players at SSC Palmberg Schwerin got off to a good start in 2023. On Sunday, the team of head coach Felix Koslowski showed no weaknesses at VC Neuwied 77 and ended the first half of the Bundesliga season with a comfortable 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-15) win at the bottom of the table.

The hosts had moved the game to Koblenz, but the move to the second largest multifunctional hall in Rhineland-Palatinate obviously made no impression on the SSC. The guests quickly pulled away in the first round and earned a total of 16 set balls. The Mecklenburg women acted similarly dominantly in the second half, although they allowed five more points against themselves.

In the decisive third set, the SSC finally earned ten match points and converted the second of them. Already on Wednesday the Koslowski team is challenged in the European Cup against Swietelsky-Bekescsabai (Bulgaria) in the round of 16 first leg. The second half of the Bundesliga season begins next Saturday with the game against Schwarz-Weiss Erfurt.
