Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: 200 guests expected to celebrate Unity Day in Schwerin

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - On Saturday (11:00 a.m.) Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will honor the Day of German Unity with a ceremony in the Schwerin State Theater, which will be celebrated for the 32nd time on October 3rd. Around 200 guests are expected. In addition to invited personalities from politics, business and culture as well as representatives of voluntary work, citizens were also able to register for the festive event.

On Monday, the actual holiday, Unity Day will be celebrated in several places in the country with local events. These include concerts, family celebrations and exhibition openings. The state representation in Berlin invites you to an open day.

The host country for the central celebrations of this year's Day of German Unity is Thuringia. At the three-day citizens' festival in the Thuringian state capital, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will present itself from Saturday on the so-called state mile under the motto "Diversity is our nature".
