As a spokesman for the environmental association BUND announced on Wednesday, this time 61 farms including bakers, cheese dairies, mills and meat processing will open their doors for Bio-Landpartie MV 2022. The central opening event for the 15th edition of the organic country outing is to take place on the grounds of solidarity agriculture (Solawi) in Klein Trebbow near Neustrelitz.

Markus Poland's farm keeps sheep, year-round cattle, pigs and geese, has milk processing and a nursery. It is financed by more than 100 shareholders, who receive "crop shares", as the 36-year-old said. State Environment and Agriculture Minister Till Backhaus (SPD) is also expected to attend the opening.

The aim of the organic country outing is for guests to get an idea of ​​practical organic farming and its products. Cider factories, gardeners, coffee roasters and distilleries are also represented. The focus is on the regions around Rostock and West Mecklenburg, Rügen, the south of the Müritz to Neustrelitz as well as the Usedom island cheese dairy and companies in Rothenklempenow (West Pomerania-Greifswald).

According to the Schwerin Ministry of Agriculture, 14.5 percent of the agricultural area in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is farmed organically. That is 195,449 hectares of fields and meadows that are managed organically by more than 1,200 certified farms.
